Map lights and rear hatch lock, and fan!

ok, so I traded my CBR 929RR for this camaro. ok, I believed it had some problems, but not this many... lol

My rear View Mirror Map lights, wont turn off... I hit the switches and the do nothing but stay lit. I can pop the cord out and they go off naturally. but ya know its kinda nice having light at night.

Also, I hit my trunk lid button and I hear a click near the glove box. i checked the mech of the motor on the rear hatch, and everything looks kinda normal. however, there is a clip hanging around the hatch release, 1 side has 3 wires in the plug, the other side has 2 wires... Since no one lives around me and cant show me where the third wire goes... is it a ground? can someone snap a picture of the 2 clips where the hatch release is located so i can take a peek???


Also, my fans don't seem to be running, I purchased a new temp sensor, and my guage seems to work now that I have pulled a wire that some IDIOT used to power the radio... (don't ask, someone tried to wire the car and didn't have a clue)

But while sitting there waiting on a train today, the guage said i was almost over heating. which in mind would think the fans are not kicking on.

Does anyone have an idea on what it could be? something I should be looking out for? I know my system needs a flush, but that has nothing to do with the fans not working..

Is the car a 96? If so it sounds like a problem I had where the BCM had a burnt spot on it. I had to lay a new piece of solder over where one of the traces was burnt up. That got rid of my interior light problem but I never could get the rear hatch issue figured out and its exactlt as you described. I did a bit of research and found there was a little bit of problems with the 96 BCM's and figure thats what you have also. Good luck, you may want to get a new BCM but if you get one and it doesn't fix it there is no returns are them and there a few hundred dollars.

Power mirrors work
Interior lights shut off.
Hatch motor sorta works.
got my power windows to work!

Mirrors and interoir lights as well as the hatch motor. Blown fuse.. HVAC fuse to be exact,

Hatch motor screams tho. Dont know why. I press my button under the dash, it screams like your killing a ferret. (best described) same goes when the button on the remote. screams. Anyone know how to fix this. its a 97, no spring. i looked at the mech and when pressed it looks like its going to disengage, but never does. it does move, just not all the way to release the lock lever.

Interior lights, at first they wouldnt shut off, they would just stay on so I had to unplug it, i replaced the fuese and figured what the hell right??? yeah it shuts off now. guess thats a warning sign a fuse blows.. Now if I can get a warning sign that my girl wont blow. HAHA, sorry.

Window motors (driver) someone got an aftermarket motor, and used cheap *** screws on it. I had some rivits when I built my CBR 900RR, and rivit the motor. works great now. nice to have it back since my girl smokes, and its warm outside.

AC, works, now that the fuse has been replaced, its like 5 things started working out of the blue once I replaced that fuse.. Now I just have to work on Mechanical things like motor, and suspension...


So the car is under the knife guys! front end is coming off and being sold to who ever wants it, t tops going to be installed in a few weeks, and paint soon to come..
