all auto start / alarm DEI stuff comes with those options, they are basic standard.

the different options you can choose from are like, glass break, proximety, multiple shock sensors and multiple sirens and more, but the stuff you listed all alarms will have

I think he means if the hood is popped when alarmed, then the alarm will sound

              Re: Viper Alarm

The hood signal is usually just a mercury sensor mounted to the hood, when the hood angle changes and the mercury makes contact it will set off the alarm.

              Comes standard.

The doors and hatch often are wired to the dome light, (when the door opens the dome light comes on & same with hatch ) the dome light comes on the alarm will sound if armed.

It can also be switched, little push in switches that when the switch opens / door opens the alarm will sound.

the shock sensor sits next to the control module most times if it comes with only one, and is very sensitive to vibration and can almost feel most of the car, the farther away from the shock sensor the worse the signal is.

and as long as you have power door locks, the alarm will lock and unlock the doors as the car is armed / unarmed

It wont be a mecury switch stock, it will be a grounded pin switch. and usually it will be hooked to a door pin, not the dome. There is a dome light supervision for it. I had to add a mercury switch to my hatch.

My grounded pin switch is a POS. Damn plastic pin is worn almost in half.

Every alarm I have installed professionally has had a mercury switch for the hood.

also, the factory door pin is what controls the dome light, thats what I was aiming to say previously...

                      Re: Viper Alarm

I have worked with Alpine, Code, DEI (viper/python/rattler) and audiovox and mercury was an add on with all of them. I dont use the platic-pin pin switches, I keep the metal post with the plastic sleeve in stock at the shop. I kinda figured that is what you meant on the dome light. On f-bodies I like the pin style switches because of the slope of the hood, now for the hatch I like the mercury because of the horizontal panels in the back.
