so i've got a jet chip for my 93 3.4 firebird and i've taken it on and off because i really cant tell whether its helping or hurting my car. Anyhow, I resolved to put it on again in the springtime when i bring my car out from storage and give it another shot, however I was wondering..... the jet chip advances ignition timing right? and i was thinking about getting one of those SLP intake sensors that tricks the comp into thinking the air is colder to advance timing, but SLP says not to use it with other products that advance timing, so would having both these products on at the same time be detrimental to my vehicle? Would the degree of timing advance be so slight that it would not be dangerous?

Re: SLP sensor and JET chip
The IAT sensor is not worth the money. I am not positive but I think the jet does the same thing. I had a buddy give me one and I think I put it on for giggles. It only differs the temp like -3 degrees so your not gaining. You can do the same mod with a five cent resistor.

i've bought a 5 cent resistor before for this mod and THAT looks tacky, you have to use tape to keep it in. This will look more professional. 30 dollars is not alot to me, for some people im sure it is, but not for me so i really don't care. I'd rather it look nice.

save up and put that to something worthwhile (exhaust, intake, school, gas etc)
and sell the jet chip while your at it
dude, i have a full intake and exhaust. I hate school. I don't need gas $ in the winter cuz i drive a beater 4 cylinder. The Jet chip has to do some good (shift points, advance timing, air fuel ratio ) i didn't feel any gains from it but i'm sure they're there somewhere =/

full exhaust means you have header-back? LS1 driveshaft? LSD? Gears? all maintainence is up-to-date?1999 Camaro Z/28

yes, full exhaust, pacesetter headers...catco high flo cat, flowmaster catback. The Jet chip is weird imo, it seems like the revs go up higher before shifting, i dont know if that is a good thing, but anyhow i'm also gonna throw in a shift improver kit from b&m to firm it up a bit. Yes i have an aluminum d.s. and no i do not have an lsd with new gears, mainly because it seems to be like a headache finding everything i need and having the money to pay a shop to do it.
