  • firebird headlight problem

    ok my headlights dont want to go down when i turn them off. but i also noticed that my headlights are trying to go up and down when i arm and disarm my alarm and it has never done that b4 so i was like wtf how can it start doing that out of no where?

    There is a gear inside the motor that has teeth that wear out. You can replace the motors or replace the plastic gear inside with another cheap plastic gear or get a brass gear instead. It freaked me out at first... if you hear a grinding noise, its the teeth grinding when the gear is spinning. I will find you a link...

        no its not that b.c i have the brass gears. and they go down fine i just have to keep moving the switch back and forth. and how would they all of the sudden start going up and down when i arm and disarm my alarm?

          It messes with the computer... When my gears messed up, everytime I used my keyless entry the headlights would go up and back down. Everyone has the same problem with the same results. My headlights would go down fine, but they made a grinding noise for a few secs and popped up and down when using keyless remote.

            how can mine mess up if i have the metal gears alreadyi just put them in about a year ago ? im not getting a grinding noise

              Perhaps its another problem then. If you have the time, take the motor out and check it over. There is probably a sensor somewhere that is messed up.
