  • Anyone here know how to read a wiring schematic???

OK so it has nothing do to with an F-body, but help a brotha out.....

Currently on my cts when I activate my high beams it shuts off my fog lights and my low beams stay on...I recently install hid's in my fogs and as you know it's not good for them to flicker on/off...so I want to do something to make my fogs stay on while my high beams are on......jumping wires under the fuse box seems to be the only way to do it (if it can be done) so here are a couple wiring diagrams.....any help or pointing me in the right direction would help alot..

and yes I've asked on the caddy forums....no one seems to wanna help over there...that or they lack the knowledge to do so.....thanks in advance.

I have had one suggestion to jump R3-R4 on the micro fog relay....dunno if it's right though.

Looks to me like grounding R4 would do it.

What's this about front an rear fog lights though?

the service manuals are the same for the US/Export cts...thats why they list rear fogs...I think they're required overseas....either way...thank you very much.

Ok went and tried it....grounding R4 just turns the fogs on when the ignition is turned on.....I can tell this is the right track...any other ideas??

So at this point they are basically like the DRLs, and you want them to be activated by the fog light switch which is only active when the headlights are on, correct?

kinda, the headlights don't have to be on for the fogs to turn on....you can flip the fog switch and it will activate the park lamps and the fog lamps....it's only when you activate the highbeams is when they turn off.....and then back on when you disable the highbeams.

If I had them in front of me with a Highlighter id have it done in no time, schematics are cake when they are in blown up large enough to see.

Unfortunately neither Schematic gives the full workings of the Dash Integration Module. The easiest solution that comes to mind is to wire R4 to one side of Fog lamp switch and Ground the other side of the switch. Thereby removing the DIM from the foglamp circuit completely.
