Security Feature???????

So I Went To Start My Car And When I Turned The Key The Car Didnt Start But Instead On Cluster The Security Light Came On Then I Kept Turning The Key And After About 4 Tries The Light Came Off And It Finally Started......any Ideas Why This Would Happen????

Clean the contacts off with the eraser of a pencil and see if it happens again

I guess it's either the pellet in the key, or the contacts in the lock cylinder. If you don't want to spend the money on a replacement, you can bypass the ignition lock and install the proper resistor directly in the steering column. You'll lose the "anti theft" feature, but nobody will know, and it's better than sitting in the car with the engine not starting.

Personally I think the VATS system is a bad design anyway, any car thief can still steal the car in a few minutes, he doesn't even have to attempt the stunning number of 15 pellets before being successful. IMO the trouble far outweighs the benefits...
