I installed a remote start on my 2000 Firebird. Everything works with the exception of the factory alarm. I could reprogram the alarm to come on with out the remote but how would I disarm it?

Re: I need some help with a Remote Start
I have figure it out so I will post what I found maybe it will help others. The brown acc. wire is what disarms the alarm when you use the key. With that in mind you can use it to disarm the alarm when you remote start or to unlock your doors. The remote start I'm using, "Autostart" comes with a 2nd acc output to use with the start function. But the disarm output from the remote module is very small maybe a 22 gauge it is also a (-) output. I need it so as to disarm when I hit unlock. I used the disarm wire to run a relay. I ran a large hot wire to the comon and to one side of the coil. I ran the disarm wire to the other side of the coil. Last run a wire from the normally open side of the rely to the brown acc. wire. This will disarm the alarm when you hit the unlock and isolate the +12 volts of the acc. wire from the (-) output wire of the remote module. All that is left is to make sure your car's alarm mode is in mode 3. This means that when use the factory remote or the lock switch on the door it will arm the alarm. The remote module uses the door switch wires to lock and unlock.2000 Firebird A4, 3.42 LSD, K&N, Free Cold Air, PaceSetter, 3" in/out Catco, 3" S-Pipe, 3" Intermidiate Pipe, 2.5" Flowmaster 80
