I had a 2000 camaro, now i have a 98 camaro. I still have the key fob from the 2000, my 98 has the anti-theft alarm thing but no key fob. .. .. is there a way i can use the 2000 key fob with the 98, re-program if possible.
Pull the radio fuse, turn the ignition on, off, then on. The car locks/unlocks to notify programming mode. Hold the lock and unlock buttons on the fob until the car locks/unlocks again. take the key out and replace the radio fuse.
You made sure you had the right fuse and tried cycling on/off more times? (to be clear, you're not starting the car, just the on position to the off position)
Yeah i've done it more than a reasonable amount. Just didn't remember exactly how many times was required in the cycle. Sorry for the inconsistencies, glad to hear it worked out for you finally.
