    Re: High output alternator?

Why you would need a 6-7 channel amp for your interior speakers, I have no clue. Get a high power 4-channel and be done with it.

I have used H/O Irragi alts in the F-bod before. They are the shizzy. Add all the fuse sizes for all the amps you will be using in the car. Unless you're over the 300 amp mark, you should be just fine with a single alternator setup. The fuse rating for the 3 amplifiers I ran previously was 220amps. Used a single direct bolt-on H/O Irragi alt and a yellow top under the hood. Had very little problems with voltage drop.

Unless he's changed the address, you can email Dominick himself at dominick@tds.net to get all your questions answered and more. High output at idle is KEY for audio systems. Ensure the alt you settle on specifies that it has high output at idle. I've gotten burned in the past, so heed my warning. Oh and you're not going to harm the car by having high output at idle. More the better.

www.knukonceptz.com for all your wiring needs. I'm tellin ya. I've been doing this awhile. 0awg isin't cheap. They produce quality stuff at very reasonable prices. Your choice of colors.

And you're looking to port a huge 15" in the back, have two huge amps and a second battery...... you going to tow a trailer behind you to carry all this?

      Re: High output alternator?

Well, i have a 6 speaker system and i like my rear speakers, plus i like to have them if im going to open it to show off or whatever. also, if i get a 7 channel, i might just add an extra 8 or 10 inch sub near the rear seats just for a little extra in the looks department. probably wont end up doing that tho but, whatever.

and im fine with the weight because i like the look just as much as the speed.

As for the knu koncepts...wayyyy ahead of you, haha. I got about 100 pounds of wires just dying to be used.

Does your battery die? You might be fine on the stock amp if you add an isolated battery in the trunk (along with a cap.) Give it a shot, and if that alternator dies then get one of the big ones.

Alternator dies is a bad thing.. I did iti in venice beach.. about 30-4o files from my house that was a fun drive home on a sunday. 300 Amp seems a bit overkill but why not?
