I had somewhat the same problem, but it was only on one side, so I replaced my bulbs and after that it cleared up. If your blinkers aren't working on either side, though, I would imagine you would need to change the blinker mechanism in the dash under the steering shaft. There is a good picture in another thread, if you can search for it.

First, replace the bulb thats out.

And I think the hazards and turn are on different flashers...

The "flasher" relay is bad, it costs under $10 from a parts store.

Under your dash, remove the panel directly under your steering wheel.
To access the flasher, it is to the right of the steering column, unplug and replace with a new one.

/\ This is the problem , it's pretty common actually.

Im sure if you did a search you'd come up with quite a few other threads with the exact same problem.

Happened to my maro' twice when I owned it.

I think the relay is $8 @ autozone.

Also, to remove the panel under the steering wheel, you will need a philips screwdriver and a 7mm socket, or wrench.

It is the turn signal flasher, 100% sure.

Very cheap part and easy to replace. Just make sure you change the right one because there are two of them. One for the hazards and one for the signals.

when mine went out, it was intermittent.

It would not work for a week, then all of a sudden my signals would work fine, and then stop again.

I posted a very detailed picture of the flasher's under the dash. I dont see how he can mix them up.

It's really not a hard task to do.

                              Hello Everyone,
I just want to make sure that I am reading the above correctly. My turn signals flash front and rear on my 99 v6 firebird, but the side markers do not flash. I find it problematic as the design to the front of the car prevents cars from the side to see that I am turning. On the highway for instance. Does everyones side markers not flash when turning? Or is my relay bad too? (like it is only connecting the front and rear and not the sides due to a bad connection in the relay?)

                              Any help would be appreciated.
                              Thanks in advance!
