Re: Stock headunit to Monsoon
The plug in the back is the same. As for power output..... I'm not real sure. You might be ok actually....
But why the hell would you want to attempt to piece together the Monsoon system?!?! Sure it sounds better then the base model system, but only when it's all working. Speakers pop every other month and you'd still be using the stock radio. In addition to it being old, it gives you very little options and room to upgrade ANYTHING.
Buy a new aftermarket headunit for pennies off Ebay, snatch up the installation parts cheap off the net too, and spend literally 15-20 of your time to put it in. Hell, I'll send you an antenna adapter for free. With an aftermarket radio, your audio options are limitless. Add a subwoofer, buy some nice Polk speakers to go in there......or whatever. Plus you can play MP3s, iPod, whatever you want.
Hell on this note, you can have an aftermarket radio and STILL continue to install the rest of the Monsoon system. So, all around, the Monsoon radio was a bad purchase. Sorry bro.
