  • Antenna Drive snapped

Hi My 98 Firebird antenna just died! I took it apart and the nylon drive rod has snapped. I need a new one!
The part number on it is 10402860 and under that the number 7254.

I need to know what other GM cars this came out of, and up to what year? I live overseas and the GM dealer wont touch the car because it's old and says Pontiac on it!

Would it be the same as a Corvette? The dealer covers the majority of Chevrolet cars, Cadillac and most GMC 4X4. Typically they keep parts for post 2000 models. They never sold Camaro in this market so asking for parts for one of those gets the same response. "We don't do parts for those" Finally anyone know the typical list price?

It's a lot but any help appreciated

    Vic

    Re: Antenna Drive snapped

Pretty much any of the universal power antennas will fit in fine. Just make sure you get one with a unscrew-able mast. That way, if you ever break the mast only..... you dont have to replace the whole motor as well.

Bought mine YEARS ago from rksport.com for $100. Worked great. But I know they can be had for much less elsewhere.

      Re: Antenna Drive snapped

When mine bit it, I grabbed one from autozone for like $20. It turned out to be chrome instead of black, but after replacing them about 3-4 times, I just wanted functional.
