So I come home from work, get out and the antenna is just standing up. I swear I heard it go down. So I go back in the turn the car on and off again. I hear the motor, but the antenna stays up. It won't push down. So now it's just stuck up. I searched here and I read some people bought a new one at Autozone, etc. for like $25. Am I just buying the antenna, or the whole motor? How hard is it to replace?

    Re: Power Antenna

Well out here they dont carry the rebuild kits for the antenna like they used to so I had to buy a new universal one. It cost 50 bucks and you'll need an adapter they sell at radio shack for the cables to plug into each other they are both males so you need a double female adapter it was cheap. Or if your handy with a set of wire cutters and crimping you can make it work.

I went and removed the old antenna mast with the plastic wire and teeth. I went to autozone and bought a new one for $20. Now I get the idea of how to put in the new one, but the plastic piece is much longer on the new one. Does this matter or should I cut it down?
