cig lighter

i know cigarette lighter Q's have been put up b4. mine stopped working after i plugged my phone in and when i unplugged it it stopped working. now it doesnt work at all. Fuse maybe? or do i have to replace the lighter, and how hard is it?

mine has a short and it blows whatever i put in there.

yeah, shorted out wire somewhere possibly?

yea most likely it shorted out...so i have to replace the whole cig lighter right? can get one at circuit city

yeh I guess. unless its shorted somewhere else. Which, I guess you'll just have to hope it isn't

Pull it out and test for 12V right on the two wires behind it. (12V and ground) If you don't have power there, a new cig lighter will be a waste.
