We just purchased a 2000 firebird that came factory with the keyless entry. the problem we have is that everytime we unlock the doors using the key and set down the alarm go's off. can someone please help us with this.

That is one of the features of the factory alarm. If the ignition key isn't put in to the ignition and turned to the "ON" position within 7 seconds of the door being opened via the door key, the alarm will sound. I do believe there is the option to turn this off in programming mode, you can find this in the alarm section of the owners manual. If you don't have access to a manual I can check for you and give you instructions. Otherwise to avoid this, use the remote to unlock the car, and you'll be set.
