my alternator sounds like it wineing and at idle its not charging what it should be.
could i of fried it by running two amps off of the aux terminal on the drivers side?
If it is charging 14 volts and above it is fine, I have been running my system off of there for 12 years without any problems, just make sure you have a fuse in there somewhere.

i have a fuse. i checked it and at idle its under 13v so i know its bad. just wondering if thats what caused the alt to go bad.
It sounds like it is going out then if it is under 13 volts. I doubt having the fuse there would cause it to go out since mine has been like that since I bought the car in Dec. 95'. How old is the altenator? Mine go out about every 4 years it seems, not bad for the AZ heat. I also just did a 4 ga. wire on it about 6 months ago.
