positive battery cable?

Sorry for the stupid question but what does the positive battery cable connect to? Some people told me that it connects to the starter and alternator and some say just the starter. It's a 3.4 btw

Yes, it connects to both. There is a wire running to the starter and there is one running to the back of the alternator.

yea I was sure it went to both but some of my friends kept insisting that it was only the starter and one of them is in school to be a mechanic :o

But I'd screw with your buddies. Lure them into a trap. Casually ask them what cars he's worked on that don't have the alternator connected to the battery....:stp:

He said his Z28 was just connected to the starter and that there was some plug that connected the starter to the alternator and that the car ran off the alternator so it didn't need to be connected to the battery . So I got in an argument with him and he said my car was the same. I am going to show him this tomorrow so flame away :)

well once the car is started i'm pretty sure it doesn't need the battery, however it needs it to start the car :)

yea I knew that buy he was telling me the power went to the starter to start the car then some plug went from the starter to the alternator to keep it running so thats why the positive cable didn't go to the alternator.

Just pop the hood and show him. You can easily see it.
