Only Partial Defrost??

It's becoming that time of the year again, and I'm needing to use the defroster.

The problem is, it will only "partial" defrost, like in rows.



Could this just be broken connections between the defrost lines, and its not making a circuit?

Any help would be appreciated.

Have you checked for differences between those that work and those that don't? I would say your guess is correct.

they sell a kit that "repairs" these.. give it a shot

basically the only way other than one of these kits is to get new glass in the back..

i have to drive 20min with the heat blasting before i can see out of the back, so be happy you guys have the defoggers

With that kit, you'll need to to take a multimeter with preferably a continuity function, and hold one probe at one end of the wire, and then start touching the other probe along the wire until you find the break. Then use the "paint" in the kit to fix the break.

Just get it tinted really dark like I did. Then you wont be able to see out if it has ice or not.

A troublesome solution. And would only make it more expensive if he decided to fix it later. It's tough enough to see out my 5% hatch tint at night. Can't imagine if you couldn't see someone behind you while backing up.
