Do you have a 35W or 55W kit? I've been doing some research, and the 35W kit supposedly had 3x the brightness of a standard hallogen; the 55W kit has 2x the brightness of the 35w, so nearly 6x a standard hallogen (so they say). I was looking into a few sets I found, and am wondering what you guys went with. I'm looking for something around the 6K range; I want pure white pretty much.

I went with a 35W kit. In my research I never found any high quality kits that were 55W. It seemed that the only ones I found were cheap brands trying to sell a 'better, brighter' product. They may have nicer kits out at this point that actually are brighter, but 3x the brightness is plenty. What kind of projectors will you be using?

Also, for a pure white, 5000k is probably a bit more what you're looking for. I have 6000K and there is a noticeable shade of blue to it. Slight, but noticeable.

I'm planning on getting the FF75's and installing these in them; I'm hoping the foglight FF75s and HIDs will be enough to let me still see at night with headlight covers. If not, I'll just have to deal with taking them off :P

35w 8000k's all the way around and love em. They're plenty bright if that's your concern, i even had to angle my fogs down a bit bc they were really bright and could light up the whole front of a building alone. Look into some 5-6000k 35w and you'll be set, i couldn't imagine needing to go any brighter without blinding everything in your path.

I know they're bright; my concern is if they're bright enough to use with smoked headlight covers on.

Buy the GTO probeams, or buy some clear ones and make your own clear light holes and darken in the rest of the cover. It would be better than a dull light coming through the smoked lenses, just for safety sake at night.

Did you use this Xentec kit below? Its now listing for $26 instead of $70?

So its just picking up a set of stock low beams, and retro fitting this kit onto it? Are there any pointers to retrofitting the H7 bulb onto the sealed beams, ie: weatherproofing/sealing concerns?

                      Thanks!

Its $26 plus $30 shipping so $56 total so not too bad in price, I paid about $60 each shipped for my 2 sets of 6000K HID's, just don't buy from Hong Kong or China , I got ripped off and was out my money, the CA CO. was a fast and good CO. to deal with.

^The Hong Kong guy pissed me off I had a bad ballast and he said just return the whole kit and he would send me out a new one, I sent it out even had the Customs # and everything and he said he never got it and wasn't sending me a new kit, payd!ck decided on his favor because they couldn't get my scanned customs receipt through my emails. I hate paypal I always give them bad reviews when they do their surveys. I always write, when I get my $90 back for the HID's and shipping you'll get positive reviews from me.LOL

i am using a kit from ddmtuning.com it's 35w and they've held up for over a year in my motorcycle and a high low beam in my durango. the best part is that the kit was 40 dollars. alot of people i know are running them on motorcycles and cars without any problems. oh and they're slim ballast too.
