I need some better lighting for my 96 Camaro. What are my options that won't break the bank and that is pretty simple? HID?

aftermarket halos are pretty popular if you're looking for an entire new setup, and you can always do hid kits with them or your stock setup.

if not, i'd do the whistler mod on your stockers---cant beat a free diy project.

hid kits off ebay are pretty cheap if you find a reliable american seller, you can get them for under 100.

i have aftermarket projector dual halos, smoked corners, and 8000k kits on my lows and fogs:

i don't have that style of headlights. I have the box kind.

I seen this and was wandering if i could take my old ones out of the sealed box and epoxy or rtv these in?

gotcha, wasn't paying attention to the 96 in the title.

check out thegr8schlotzky's black mid 90's setup, i believe he's got the hella lights/conversion hid kit and it looks great.

        here's his fquick:

I paid about $70 a set for my 6000K HID's for my low beams/fog lights and since I had them in my fogs and removed them for my intercooler, I'm going to put them in my high beams, now for some reason I can run my low and high beams at the same time if I want to,so it is pretty cool. I say go for HID's if you want more light, just have to silicone the bulbs in and let them dry and thats about it the rest is real easy.

Jeeze. I need to update my FQUICK. haven't even posted up the new lights.

Yeah, heads up, those bulbs you posted are 1. Not true HID and 2. will likely be no better than stock.

Silverstars are one option. But when I say silverstar, I mean silverstar, and not a silverstar "like" bulb, because there is a difference (I speak from experience). HIDs are another, less safe (for other drivers) option, and then there is the option I took, changing the lights straight up.

Here is a thread in regards: http://forum.camarov6.com/showthread...ght=hella+ff75

                    Re: 96 Camaro Lights

I do believe as you step up, you get more output, but shorter life. The basic ones, called like cool blue or something, is a noticeably more white light, but not much different than stock output wise, and has a long life. The basic silverstars are probably the best bet, as they will last a while (shorter than an average halogen, however) and will noticeably be brighter. The silverstar ultras are the best for light output and color, (I have them in my brights) but it says right on the box they won't last as long. Now some people have had them in the low beams for a while and not had problems, and mine haven't burnt out yet, but it's what the box says, so it's probably true.

Other options include PIAA, which can be found on eBay, but I think they are even more spendy.

i definately want something brighter like a hid but i am not good at wiring and would like to keep the stock look with better lights if that makes any sense.

HID is super simple to wire in. No splicing, no cutting, no soldering, no nothing. Just plug one in into the wiring harness, and plug the other end into the bulb, and hide the ballast somewhere. HID can be blinding to other drivers without the use of proper projectors, though.

Mine was about 120 shipped, high quality lifetime warranty on sale at the time from eBay. But I put it in the Hella 90mm Projectors, so it doesn't kill other drivers eyes.
