You didn't get a real subthump box then, I have had a Alpine Type R in mine and now a Type X which is even bigger than the type R in my box from Subthump. Where did you buy the box? I know it wasn't from the CO., Subthump. If it was the ebay ones then there like a 6" mounting depth , then there was another guy selling them who wouldn't email me back a true dimension of the magnet size going back just said 9" depth, so I gave up on that after 2 emails. Got any pics of the box?

How long ago did you buy it? From what I've heard, they've discontinued the F-body line. I actually called up there last week and no one answered. No answering machine or anything, just kept ringing.

Does the type R have a magnet cover like the fosgate p1,2,3's????? If so you can remove the cover and it should fit

My Type R fit no problems and I even have a Type X now in mine which was about 2-3 inches longer and wider at the bottom and is weighs about 13LBS more than the Type R. So I would say you have a def. problem with the box then.

I have had a 10" Type R in my Subtump box , no problems, and now a Alpine 10" Type X which is bigger than the Type R in height and the magnet. The magnet goes all the way to the back of the box. I had to use a 1/4" rubber spacer that came with the Type X to make it fit. I think he got a bad box from Subthump or a different maker.
