I looking into buying a new one soon and this guy is willing to sell me a brand new one for 95 bucks. But I need to make sure first as what our OEM is.
OEM is 105 amps max, idle I would think would be 60-80 amps then max out at 105amp. The one he is selling is aftermarket, I have seen them on ebay for $150 to $200 depending on max output, they go up to 200 amps , the one he is selling I think is $160 so it would be a good deal and wouldn't over stress your system. I use a Caspers voltage Booster hook up where it connects into the TPS and the ALT. and at 70% throttle it gives me 1.2 Volts more at WOT, so I'm 14-14.2 volts at WOT. Edgar if your the original owner of your car you have a lifetime warranty on ALT, Starter, waterpump, AC , injectors, shocks through GM Goodwrench lifetime warranty. I swear by the time I'm dead I will have got my money back from them in lifetime warranty parts, I'm at around $4000 right now over 14 years, well 11 years after GM warranty ended,so another 13,000 to go.LOL

Yeah, I bought the car brand new. But the thing is there's nothing wrong with my alternator. It still charges the battery and gives out good output. The thing is that it sounds horrible now because of the SC belt putting too much stress on it.
I wanted to go up in amps, but since I my electrical stuff are pretty stock. So I'll just go buy an oem alt. A guy is selling it to me for 93$ brand new.
