  • Going to go ahead and start the turbo build

I have decided since after cleaning my rims and washing the windows and my back is killing me to go ahead and let Peak Boost to do my turo pipes and tig weld everything. Also I got 2000 degree heat paint and alot of heat wrap also for spots going under and in front of the engine. I sent back my exhaust tools and cutoff saw so thats $250 to go towards them mocking it up and doing the welding. My dad is going to help me do my steering R&P upgraded and then I will finish my remote dual oil mount and 1 qt. ALM overflow tank, install the -10an tap for the return and I will then drop it off to them. I couldn't get ahold of them today so I couldn't get a qoute but I hope its not too much. I know I want to be able to take apart if need be and put a stock crossover pipe back on if I have to mess with the turbo, so I can still drive it. Which is going to add to the price but I thought it would be a good idea, so the car doesn't have to sit because theres a problem with the turbo unit somewhere. What do ya think good plan?

Thanks, the DRs. were telling me to wait 5-6 years to see if my back gets better but it has gotten worse so after they do the heart closure , the back surgery is lined up next to do to get off these pain killers and other drugs, I'm soooooo bored staying at home. The one Dr. said i could work 4 hours a day which would be nice to get out and about once I'm feeling well. I was going to buy a 7mm LH rifle(I'm LH) hard to find rifle for a good price and a 7.62 x 39 AK with scopes, 4 mags and 1080 RDS. but I think I will just wait and get my car projects finshed first. I used to love to shoot, Always shot perfect with hand guns, shotgun and AR15 can't afford the AR15's but there caliber is so small might as well shoot a 9mm rd.LOL I use to shoot a 7.62 X 54 Nato rds, like a .308 cal. and that had some kick, I always got rid of the wrong guns, like my .303 Britsh Infield great gun and got rid of it too. I would like to get back into shooting since I can't work out anymore. I'm going to call this week to see what the one shop will charge and then will go down the road and see what this welding place will charge. If it is to much I will most likely have to do it myself.

dude shooting is amazing. Trap, target, anything. My dads a cop and has an m16 :D its so fun to shoot. gotta love our .308 rem 700 vtr though. That things a beast!!! We have a couple of .45 handguns....9mm..couple .22's. (.22s are just plain ol' fun lol) I also bought an 8mm k98 mauser awhile back. Wanna talk about some OOMPH! Doesn't shoot now though, broken firing pin or something.

But I've def. gotta see some pics! Sounds like a good plan dude. Keep us updated...I also wanna see about how much this runs $$$ wise too

My project with all the extras so far is about $4000 but that with the meth kit and Aeroforce scan gauge with EGT kit, which was about $500-$600 more. I figure with the turbo and pipping and the needed parts it would be about $3000 or less, I got alot of good deals on my parts, esp. the GT35R turbo , 3" V band, polished housing, for $1300 even,Tial BOV and wastegate $400, intercooler& ALM piping and oval piping $900, and the rest was misc. parts all stainless braided lines for oil return and water lines etc.

Just click on my Cardomain site in my sig, it has most of my mods and some I don't have listed because their on standby. Incase I blow a head gasket,I have MLS head gaskets, P/P heads, P/P intakes, 130lb springs, double roller timing chain and 65LB injectors. Still need to install my rear QA-1's, dual oil remote filters, 1qt. ALM radiator resivior, 65lb injectors, and new 14,4 rack & pinion, haven't been feeling well so might take alittle bit longer, my Dad is suppose to come over and do the steering for me. The rest I can do by myself once feeling better. I hoping for at least 350WRHP to a max of 425 WRHP with about 10-15 PSI , 10 for DD and 15 PSI for the track. I want to dyno it N/A here soon with the VS cam.

If you do get to the dyno and get good numbers be sure to post it... I have a VS cam in the for sale section :)

Sounds like you've planned this all out well, good luck with everything...

Thanks, the VS cam has been very good to me , bought mine used for $100 6 years ago. I had the Powerdyne and then nitrous , now N/A and soon turbo , so far it has like 3 out of the 4, and I think it will love the turbo too. If I have to get another cam it will be another VS cam just work well with everything, I'll def. post dyno #'s once I get it done. I dynoed 288 HP/ 330 TQ with running the Powerdyne at 8-10 PSI, never got it tuned right with the nitrous plus working so much and then having the stroke I never got it dynoed with the 125 shot and even 150 shots I ran which were extremely outstanding when working right, crazy at 65+ MPH and the tires spinning when shifting to 3rd.LOL I would say the VS cam is like the sleeper cam, no one knows about.
