Re: Alright, time for some setup ideas...
because you could never run a little spring in WG and add CO2 for precision staged boost control...you can run a manual boost controller and/or just adjust the rod on the wastegate arm and be just fine...but for big power/ small tire cars. like a couple of our shop cars making upwards of 1300rwhp on a 275 or 315 drag radial...you obviously can't come out of the hole on that much power and such a little tire. we run the NLR AMS1000 boost controller in those cars with say; a 6lb wg spring, but can bring the car out the end of the track at 40plus and do it in as many stages as we see fit...
i just like the new style stuff...why take 5 bolts off to remove a down pipe when you can do it with one v-band clamp....
its personal pref when it comes down to it...my boss used an internally gated 62-1 on his drag race honda over 10 years ago and it worked just fine...turbo tech just like everything else has come so far since then.. back then all you had to tune with was an afc or crane interceptor lol....definitely no hptuners or stand alone ems's
anything from precision turbo or garret is definitely quality...and just how you like the buick housings and flange's...i'm a t4 guy myself..i can put anywhere to from as small as a 30R all the way up to i believe they have flanged a 91mm in a t4 housing now...
to each their own:cool:
