talk to the guy who builds the turbo kits for your car, $4500 bucks. im doing a cam install in spring and depending on how much i get back from income tax i might have him build me a kit, but i had a friend who has a supercharged grand prix tell me he dose not recomend a turbo with a cam i dont know why but he knows his **** pretty well (or maybe not everything lol) anyway what do you guys think? worth it or not? well i know the turbo will be but i mean $$ wise is it? thanks in advanced

Re: force fed fabrications
Depending on the cam specs you'll make more HP with the cam then staying with the stock cam with the same PSI. So say with 10 psi stock cam you get 320 WRHP, with a cam with 10 PSI you might get 350 WRHP or more. So there is a big difference, so I think your friend knows nothing about cars.08' L76 6.0L 4X4 Chevy EXT.Cab LTZ Vortec MAX with Snug top cover, Dynomax exhaust,Hptuners& K&N intake

Re: force fed fabrications
^^Exactly. As long as the cam grind is spec'd for a turbo, then you will make a ton more power. Conversely, if your cam is not a turbo cam then it wont help all that much.
It just depends on the cam.sigpic

Re: force fed fabrications
cam and heads play a big roll in how much power you will make...but like stated, you have to have the right grind...maybe he was using a NA cam for his turbo car...even just a cam in an NA car makes a world of difference... I mean, it is basically the lungs of your car...it determines how long and how high the valves open to let that air into the engine...Probably one of the single best things you can do to a car is change the cam...

Re: force fed fabrications
I dunno $4,500 to me seems a bit much for just a Turbo Kit. I would definitely do an LSX swap over $4,500 for just the kit. All in all my turbo kit will only cost me $2,500 and I will still be in the 350 RWHP range and using quality parts. that would save $2k in which I could rebuild the motor to handle the extra stress...1997 Camaro RS W/T-Tops<br />All Stock / 200 HP
