Re: I am the FondleMonster- and i has a turbo(build thread)
Alright I guess the under-k setup has it's advantages, but my k-member is already a little scratched up from bottoming out so I don't think it's for me haha.
94 Camaro convertible -- mostly stock 97 Firebird -- Project Car - kyb agx shocks, eibach springs, 3.42 torsen diff, aluminum driveshaft, slp cai, pacesetter headers, magnaflow cat-back. hptuners. not done yet. 98 Firebird -- Parts Car
haha I actually stopped reading after page 7 or so, but it's still nice to see a 19 year old like myself take on a project of this magnitude. The fact that he's already felt 13lbs of boost in such a short time frame is still impressive in my book. ffh's ftw though... oh and the budget... I've already got about 700 wrapped up in just the hot side parts that I haven't done a damn thing with!
He had it jacked up on the 9th of december with pics. I don't get why everyone thinks he did it so fast. Today is the 2nd.
btw, you can throw 13psi into any car but if it's not tuned right, it's either going to blow or not really do much. I don't see how he's got it "tuned" right since it's only been a couple of days. Unless he's been driving around nonstop I doubt his long term fuel trims have even settled. What is 13psi worth if you're going to blow your engine in week? Especially if he keeps accidentally overboosting.
I'm just completely against this being any kind of write up or sticky since there is so much he left out. And in my opinion, so much he's done wrong. Myself and others that have track and time tested experience with turbos on these engines know that this could very well end badly.
Fondle, please restrain yourself from blowing up and calling me a **** or *** or whatever it was. If you make a valid point and prove to me what you've done is correct then I definitely won't rant anymore. So whatever you feel I've accused you about, please correct me with valid proof. ie, pictures of pipe clearance. I think I asked you what you did about the PCV too. What did you do about the BOV opening? And obviously above I mentioned overboosting. Not to mention tuning. If you can explain these things, i'd vote for a sticky.
