It looks like bolting up a t56 could be an option, but I havent looked into the details of that adapter plate. Even then 400hp would probably be pushing the limit of a t56 without setting it up. After the trans, the diff would become a weak link. I dont think a stock lsd wouldnt last long, especially with your new used tires. In regards to the L32 shortblock you mentioned, you could use your L36 block with L32 rods and L67 pistons. I was curious: what compression ratio did you have in mind for the pistons before boost, and approximately how much boost is required to hit 600hp?
1) It looks like you are building a whole new motor here...if you are building this onto a seperate motor, why take the turbo off your car at the moment...why not drive it around and enjoy it in your car...You said that you have some coin, and $1300 isn't going to make that big of a difference in what you will need to spend for this build?
I mean I just don't get how you have built your other car up, not even drove around with the turbo 1-2 weeks, and you sell it.... I mean it wasn't even tuned yet, and you say you tune other cars? It's the same concept? just tunning afrs more or less...
2) what are you going to do to hook up exhaust to your other car now? since your pipes were all used for your build?...sounds as if you have created more work for yourself, especially in a school parking lot environment...?
first of all, i wasnt planning on selling it, but i got a good enough offer i wasnt going to pass it up, money talks
second, the tuning was fine.. idk where your getting that, the reason it was messing up was because of the sensor that went bad
3rd, tuning a boosted car is nothing compared to tuning a n/a car
4th, i made a turbo setup, im pretty sure i can figure out how how to connect the exhaust
5th, the car has been done for 6 weeks, not 1-2 weeks like you stated
why does it even matter how much money i have or where i get my money.. my mom doesnt even ask these questions
I dont care where you get your money from, you said you get enough coin, so that means that you probably aren't relying on the selling of the previous turbo kit for money for the new project.
It wasn't that someone made you an offer for the turbo out of the blue either...you specifically listed it for sale upon completion, which is strange to say the least... The fact that you are not even doing the new build on the motor that is on the car, but rather on a seperate block baffles my mind even more as to why you would pull the turbo off of your car and not enjoy it for longer...I mean you didnt even get that dyno run you were talking about? Surely solid results that are on paper could boost the value of your kit even more... I dunno man...alotta stuff on your build just doesn't add up, or just doesn't make sense, and I say that after quietly following everything on both forums...
and yes, tunning boosted cars is different then tunning N/A cars in the sense that you cannot afford to make mistakes. In the end the bulk of the tunning comes from adjusting AFR and spark...its not like you guys just magically create new tables to tune.
my mom hasnt paid for any thing on my car, except the payments as it used to belong to her before she gave it to me when she got her new tahoe
and i drove the car for close to a month before i posted it for sale, i wasnt planning on it selling that fast, thats why it was listed as a "feeler"
i wanted to get the whole l32 block because i think that would be easier than trying to find rods and pistons from a l32 by them self
i worked 50+ hours during the summer, being the 10+ hours are at time an a half being they are "over time", working as a union electrician makes pretty good bank, especially when i get 4 months off of school for summer break
being a college kid, most of my money goes to car parts and food since i dont have any other bills
the reason i posted the kit for sale is i cheaped out the first time doing an under k setup, sure it performed good, but i always wondered how much better it would be doing a proper FFH setup, curiosity killed the cat, the kit sold and now i want to do it the proper way i should have done the first time
i will make the FFH and the new setup over spring break, the MP t 70 will handle just fine n my current set up
i wasnt planning on doing the motor until summer started, my plans are to buy a tubular k member first, and then build the new motor on top of that and when i have everything to put in, swap it out
i dont have 8k laying around to do all of that right now, thats just my plans for my "ideal setup"
Even then 400hp would probably be pushing the limit of a t56 without setting it up. After the trans, the diff would become a weak link. I dont think a stock lsd wouldnt last long, especially with your new used tires.
I agree that the rear will probably not hold up, but the M6 is strong as $hit. Many LS1 dudes have 500+ rwhp on stock M6's (stockish...upgraded clutch, but thats it). The tranny wouldnt be the weak link, I promise you that.
it hasnt been raining that hard, but it is kinda flooded, here is a pic out of my dorm window on the second floor
i love how every one tries to act like im lying about everything
it stopped raining the other day and i tried to get that sensor off but my friend was having trouble holding the pulley when i was trying to break it loose
i love how every one tries to act like im lying about everything
It pretty much boils down to how.. A lot of things you say go against years and years and years of experience. And much of your lack of proof. A lot of people don't say how fast their car is till they have a timeslip, a video of their runs.. etc..
These guys are trying to help you with your tranny, but I have a feeling you'll be keeping the one you have if you end up making that much power.. just cause that's pretty much the character you've shown. I'm not trying to insult you. Just enlightening.
yeah fondle ive been with you since you started but selling the kit right after completion really just....makes me wonder. i would have at least liked to see some vids first. I guess im requesting vids here lol....and for the working 50 hrs a week....ive done that forever and still have no money lol
