Re: PD belt
It's been discussed on here before. With the John_D Powerwrap and a grooved pulley, you're going to get pretty much all you can out of the Powerdyne BD-11A.
Powerdyne users, we need to talk.
Could this be the Double Sided Rib that we PD users need?

Powerdyne belts and pullies
Just for reference, I looked into this a couple years ago and the closest I could find was this. Unfortunately, that belt was still a few inches too short and would have required modifying or removing pulleys.'99 Camaro

Re: PD belt
I know I tried alot of different stuff when I had my powerdyne, the slipping isn't the worst part. The worst is the internal belt heating up too much and can't handle the stress, I've got it up to 11 PSI before but it won't last long. maybe it was the AZ heat.08' L76 6.0L 4X4 Chevy EXT.Cab LTZ Vortec MAX with Snug top cover, Dynomax exhaust,Hptuners& K&N intake

Re: PD belt
well ill look at my store for the 105 double sided belt. as for AZ heat i dont think i will need to worry since i live in VA if that was the issue. Im lookin for quick power, which i caint get with a turbo setup since things keep coming up. I hate my car sometimes. And if the internall belt Fs up on me i will go wih the Xb-11a unit if i can find it for less than $2000.

Re: PD belt
I think it was mostly the RPMS of the belt and it slipping off, but you could go with a Procharger also, since once you do upgrade to the XB-11a the belt will be harder to turn since its gear chain driven and I think belt slipage will be even worse, thats why I ditched it all together. The Pro charger runs off a 2nd belt so there is no problems with slipage. But good luck to you anyways just don't get caught up into it like I did , I could of bought and had installed a FFF turbo kit for what I kept spending on the Powerdyne when I had it.08' L76 6.0L 4X4 Chevy EXT.Cab LTZ Vortec MAX with Snug top cover, Dynomax exhaust,Hptuners& K&N intake

Re: PD belt
The problem with the XB-1A is that because it's a gear driven headunit, it will require more force to turn. This is where running the pulley off the backside of the belt becomes an issue and it slips. This is the exact setup I was trying to do last year. I even looked at the pros and cons of trying a double belt system like the GTPs. On the stock layout, you'd probably only get 1-2# boost max with a cut pulley and the PowerWrap. A double-sided belt could help resolve this problem, but when I checked at Autozone, O'Reilly's, and Advance Auto, none of them had anything close enough to work. The problem with double sided belts from VW, Audi, or other imports is that they run a much smaller belt configuration and tend to average about 50" long instead of the 104" belt that you would need.
As for quick power, if you're wanting an almost instant response when you mash the gas pedal, the BD-11A is going to be your best bet. The benefit of the internal belt design is that it can be spun to reach full boost at lower rpms. That is IF you keep it within it's recommended operating range of 6-9#. Even with the race or performance rebuilds you find out there offered by Supercharger Rebuilds or 928, that headunit is only going to handle single digit psi. If you could get the XB-1A to work, the response would not be instantaneous, but would rather hit hard at higher rpms. I've heard the feeling is similar to that of nitrous.'99 Camaro

Re: PD belt
I was just using the vw belt as an example. As for the Xb1a that is unfortunate. It would be nice to see what that PD setup could do with more boost. I guess i should just finish putting together the turbo build. Im not sure i would be happy with the PD in the long run.

Re: PD belt
I agree. It is unfortunate that our options were limited. But there is always room for pioneering. Far as I know, no one has actually tried to use the XB-1A and a different belt configuration. Pathogen did have a double belt setup with her custom Procharger kit, but it involved relocating the alternator and removing the A/C. Not to mention the custom brackets and tensioners she had made.
I'm not saying it's not possible. Just that no one has really tried. In the meantime, I do hope that GV Performance will be able to release a Procharger bracket kit like they did with the Powerdyne brackets.'99 Camaro

I wouldn't ponder on that XB1a unit. 928 can do a super rebuild and it will produce more cfm than that head unit. They have almost perfected this SC.
Do you have pics of your SC?
