    Re: Hesitation under boost

I started the car last night to check the A/F ratio at startup and at idle and it hovered between 12 and 12.5, even I iknow thats rich.

I dont have access to HP Tuners right now to change the ratios. Can I gap the plugs smaller for less a spark to temporarily correct the problem?? Is there anything I can do in the meantime?

You had your turbo on less than a month with no dyno #'s or track times , so I wouldn' t take advice from people who drive other cars, the people who actually drive their 3800 cars as DD is the ones I would listen too. I have had guys with Civic's try to give me advice, as if I would take their advice would be stupid since they know nothing about our engines and what it likes. Like the GTP's like autolite spark plugs rather than NGK's , its simple stuff like that , that will get your motor running its best and not blown up on the side of the road.

          Re: Hesitation under boost

To close this topic, I brought my car to my buddy with HP Tuners and turns out my ratios were just way to rich. We did about 20 passes and leaned all the parameters out to get my A/F ratio good throught the RPM range. No knock. Everything is good to go. Plugs are fine.

10 AFR at full boost is usally fine but when the turbo is spooling it sometimes flood the air charge with to much much fuel and it feels like a misfire

also if you have a "autozone" ICM boost is VERY iffy on those..... ask shodown :)
