Have a question been wondering if my oil return line is to small. My turbo does not spin at idle but when I give it gas it will spin. My oil return line is 1/2in not sure if that is the best size for it also I see only about 2psi to 3psi of boost.

Edit: Specs on my turbo are -A/R Compressor: .70 A/R, -A/R Turbine: .63 A/R and on the Exhaust side it is a T3 A/R .48

    Re: Oil line

i dont see how oil return line size will affect any sort of boost issues

but the drain line should be about the size of a Quarter around

This is when I had put the car together http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=47Bi3gC1LCQ the turbo would spin plus I had no oil restrictor on the turbo when I took this video now I have an oil restrictor and it doesn't even spin at idle. Should I take it off or leave it on?

Edit: The oil line is 1/2in diameter some people told me that it is to small

        Re: Oil line

I run a 1/2" drain with a restricted feed and i've had no problems.
you can check some of your couplers maybe if they got a little loose. that happened to me yesterday i only had like 1 pound and then i hooked a compessor up to the pipes and i saw i was leaking out of a coupler that got loose. good luck!

            Re: Oil line

your turbo should spin fast at idle..... mie does, seem like you may need a rebiuld

to small a return cause the seals to blow out, then oil goes around the bearings and not into them

no less then 5/8 (ID) return

            I personally run a -12AN return line

I'm going to get a bigger line but I fixed my boost issue today. I pushed around 8psi.

It is to embarrassing one of the couplers was not on all the way. And I changed my boost gauge line position.
