Alright so Im getting a new Pd headunit for a pretty cheap price. Problem is it has a 90* scroll. My car also has an angled throttle body. Do any of you guys have any ideas on what to do for an intake/discharge setup? Im lost, I was looking at this www.siliconintakes.com but i am not exactly sure how i would set it up along with a BOV setup, and i have no idea how flexible these tubes are.
HOWEVER, they also sell aluminum pipes for pretty cheap. Im just not sure as to how many different bends i will need.
you could use some rubber elbows and then some pieces of metal. Or grab a few mandrel bent pieces to play around with. It can be done, or you can check online for a straight scroll and just swap them out as that 90* scroll is removable. Just a few bolts. No biggy.
That's going to be a problem. Because you would want that to be straight.
The intake tube is not a problem, but the discharge tube you may need to go to a machine shop or an exhaust shop and have them fabricate one for you.
Yea it is that one. And I know I can swap out the scroll, however it is a little pricey. I have seen it done on the straight tb, with 2 90* couplers and a straight pipe with the bov flange. It's just a PITA having this angled tb.
Oh and if I need to get it made would it be okay to drive it with the blower attached and no intake tubing connected?
it will be fine you'll just be blowing air into the engine bay just have a filter on the side of the blower so it doesn't suck debris in just mount it and moc up some tubing with cardboard so you know what bends you need

Yes, 2 90* would work, but the fewer bents an air can travel the better it would be for your blower and engine. But yes, it would work.
Yes, you can have no intake tube and just filter attached to it. But room is an issue. Your fan shroub would interfere.
If you like you can get an flexible tubing and attach that from your blower to your lid.
I would recommend using the 90 degree silicone couplers, you can build your entire piping out of it. Thats what I did. They sell silicone joiners so that you can connect them together. much better than the flex tubing.
also where my filter is located is not an ideal place. Im moving it under where the battery. Putting a filter on the end of the pd unit is not a good idea either. I was scanning my car with hp tuners and the intakes temps for that location were way to high. The filter needs to get cold air.
Thor- I have a 95 there is now lid. I will be integrating the PD in with the aftermarket cold air intake. Still in the wheel well.
As for the 90* am i going to see any more ponies from getting a straight scorll? If not im not sure its worth the $225 for a new scroll. As for the picture i was refering to something like this. Found it on FTV6.

I don't believe you'll see anymore hp from a straight scroll. The reason why I said less bend the better is because air when it gathers together or concentrate tends to heat up. You'll be fine.
That diagonal discharge is the best way. That's a good find. That's not your current set up right?
