    Re: Budget Turbo Build.

my plans were to do a rear mounted turbo but it actually looked like it was gonna be more money. the main cost other than pipes n turbo, is a good oil pump to feed the turbo. effin ridiculous.

As far as tuning and all the supporting mods, those are already planned even if I don't go to FI. I have a 97 pcm and will be buying the tuning software shortly.
By the way, does someone have a P/N or brand name for a good wide-band O2 sensor? I'll be installing new flowmaster exhaust next weekend and it would be a good time to get that in there as well.
lol well any modification to the exhaust usually isnt legal aswell
      Wait, Is that a V6 or V8?

you mean the pump to send the oil back to the motor i assume. And what do you consider a ridiculos? If you still looking for one i have a Mocal Pump for sale.

                  Re: Budget Turbo Build.

OK, I have one more issue to deal with before I start fabricating parts. Seeing as this is a rear mounted turbo, I wanted to keep the plumbing from the engine and back to minimum. I thought about fabricating a stainless oil sump at the back for use by the turbo only. It would have an electric pump to keep the oil flowing as well as a filter and cooler. Can anyone see a problem with this setup? Is there something I'm missing that can come back and bite me in the arse? Any suggestions or improvements perhaps?

                  Thanks.

Now for my question. Do you think the t-70 was the best ebay "cheap" choice or would a smaller t3/t4 move enough air while spooling faster?

Obviously I've never done a turbo build before so pardon my ignorance. Thanks.

I could install the rest of mine since its ready to go in a weekend if my back wasn't messedd up, I gave all my nitrous stuff about over a grand to a member to help me but I got screwed on that, had rear shocks installed and oil pan with -10an oil return line already setup for it installed. Now I get no responses from my PM's , he was either going to do my front cover with a double roller and newer heads and intakes or help me finish my turbo setup which I haven't heard a word from him in 9 months and he hasn't posted on here in along time. So I will not trust anyone again until the work is completed first. Something told me not to give him all the nitrous parts all at once but I was too trusting, now not anymore. Plus I saw some posts from the local board here where he sold all the nitrouss parts I gave him with in a month , should of known, I guess some people take advantage of guys who have had strokes and have a hard time thinking, my parents told me not to give all of it away but I thought it would be a nice juster so he could install it all at once, since he wanted to run the nitrous. Oh well my loss.
