So I started to mount my kit up today, and i am having an issue. All of the bolts to the bracket are tight and I have ZERO clearance between the oil filter and bracket. These are the GVP brackets. The directions say to have 1/2 inch between the filter and bracket, there is NO WAY that is ever going to happen lol. However, I can get some clearance by grinding some of the bracket.

So do any of you have any sure way to protect my filter? Pictures are highly welcome.

on a few of the cars we have had a few people mention that they had to grind some of it off the bracket to clear it. Unsure why some are like that but yea just grind a bit off it to clear and you will be fine

Just curious how your build is going, I was looking at going the PD route. Any specials tools needed? Ive read through all the manuals there are on the install. also how long has it taken you so far?

powerdyne kits are installed with hand tools. No special tools needed unless swapping pulleys then you would need a pulley puller

Id say if you know what you are doing and dont run into any unexpected speed bump it would be around a 4 hour install. Nothing to it really. I will probably use the advice in one of the instructions and use some steel around the filter just to be extra safe.

No clearance where the "knob" (for lack of better description) on the mounting plate is? I had the same issue...Just ground a quarter circle into it or so, didn't put any metal around the filter either; never had any visible contact and ended up with plenty of clearance.
