So i installed the powerdyne tonight and started it. It screams really loudly at start up, then goes away. Then if i rev it it screams. Come to fin out it is the A/C, and if i turn the A/C on it screams all the time. Has anyone else had this issue and know how it fix it?

I think your belt is slipping. Run it for a bit that should loosen up the belt and turn off your engine and tighten your belt. Do this one more time.Originally posted by Watazz View Post

Thats a overtightened belt which will in time will bend the input shaft. When tighten the belt from the ALT. to the power steering should have about a 1" play or about a 90 degree twist on it. If you can't twist the belt in that section 90 degrees or can't push about a 1" downward then its over tightened. When I had mine and replaced mine input shaft once becuase the teeth got meesed up when the internal belt broke and I had to cut it off the input and output shaft I nick the teeth so when I replaced the input shaft it was bent/ warped from the tension of the belt on the pulley , so you have to watchout for it. This only happened when I was going with 2.8, 2.6, 2.25" pulleys. Just trying to get more PSI. problem solved guys. Went with a 5061038 dayco belt, got it to about 3/4 inches of play and it doesnt squeal anymore. The other belt 5061055 was too long, i was bottoming out the tensioner.Comment

runs fine considering i dont have a discharge tube yet haha. I got the gauges mostly done tonight so i will hopefully get to working on some kind of discharge tubing soon. Probably go with some stuff from Siliconeintakes.comComment

I think they make a 103.5 and a 103" belt also, a BOV would be nice for it, a ran a Trbo XS bov, blue one I think was good for up to 15 PSI , ran like 2 spacers in it. Is it a stock pulley size ? Dude I was pissed off when i called ASP and he said he was moving his business so he wouldnt be able to do a custom job for a few months. I couldnt wait that long so i called 928 and the hooked me up with a 3.05 that they custom made from a ribbed pulley. Not to shabby considering the stock size was a 3.12. Oh i and i got my gauges hooked up today. I will post some pics once i get the adapter for the fuel rail to the sending unit. The boost is the only one i got hooked up with power. Gauges from prosport, I love the way they look. Good cheap buy.Comment

3.05" is fine, Thor is running my old 2.8 or 2.9" pulley , I know if you run a 2.6 you can use a 103" belt. And the 2.8 was the 103.5" I think. Just don't go crazy like I did wanting 10-12LBS of boost and running smaller pullies they will eat up the internal Powerdyne belt and cause the bearings to go out quicker. I ran the stock pulley for 2 years and never had a problem, until I started dropping pulleys.
