  • Alcohol Vs. Race fuel

So I have been doing a lot of reading up on alcohol (Meth, ect) on how it gets injected into the intake to increase the octane for high boost applications. Whats the difference between running straight 100 grade racing octane fuel and installing a meth kit? The meth kit would be cheaper in the long run, but anything else?

I think there are more advantages to meth injection than just increasing the octane. It cools the incoming air like an intercooler, and helps push the piston down since the water turns to steam.
