Firebirds tend to get hot even with out turbo. There is more air flow needed once you stick a 4" thick intercooler in front of the Evap/Radiator.
Drove it home today and plan on tuning it and working on it some more to charge up the A/C and install the 340 Warbro pump.
I'll hook up the HeroPro cam and put it up on YouTube :)
Same with my Camaro and I added a billet front grill, adding a 4" thick intercooler to mine still gets about 215 temp here in AZ in the summer, thats with a manual fan switch 1 1/4" radiator core, longer air dam from RK sport, drilled 160 thermo and running distilled water and RP ICE in the radiator. Thats why I went with the oval pipping under the tub. K. Will sit like a stock car with no clearance isssues from the hot side oval pipping to the 3" DP oval pipping going back to the exhuast. I wish I lived in a cooler city. LOL

Thats the same turbo blanket I bought. I plan on using the blanket and then put my polished cover over the blanket to spice it up. LOL Looks great though. I wish you could fly out to AZ and finish mine up. I have a spare room.

The blanket never stank or got smoky nothing. I'm real impressed with how well it keeps heat in or down.. which ever.
It's somthing I'll be putting on my own car.
I'll head out to AZ .. but it'd have to be after summer.. Whew it's Hawt there.
How's your health doing???

When he said we had to keep the bird on front I had to think of other options.
I had to do some mods to the core support and raise the Intercooler up about 1.5" today. That allowed more air to be directed across the radiator and now have a steady 180 on the laptop for coolant temp. It was creeping up to the 195 area before I cut all that up and made room. That lower air deflector (as always) seems to be the key to keeping these cars cool.

Very jealous i must say. Whats the budget looking like so far?
Wait, Is that a V6 or V8? 1990 Chevrolet C-K 1500 series 4.3L .. 5spd

You can always get a lower air damm from RK sport , thats what I run , I think its 2"s lower than stock. Need all the air I can get in AZ. LOL I have been running my car with the intercooler on it for over a year now 31 X 12 X 4"s and the highest it gets is 215 degress on the 115 degree temps and me gunning it light to light. Normal driving is about 200 degrees. I hope to get my turbo on maybe Oct. when it starts to cool down alittle, its ready to be put on but just too hot. I'll have the P/P heads, with the bigger Manely valves in there to and P/P intakes and running methanol ,so I hope for some good #'s.
