  • Maf??

Wondering if a maf from a Tahoe would work on a V6 F-body that boosted I know most people go with a Lt1 or Ls1 maf but can a maf from a tahoe work the same?

    Re: Maf??

If the motor is a 5.3 I would think it would work, just need to go on Hptuners and get the maf values. Actually even if its a 5.7/6.0 I think it would work aslong as you can get the maf tables. Someone correct this if it is wrong, URSLO would know.

      Re: Maf??

I use a vette MAF on my NA engine, same part number as the trucks and yukons. :) Yea you can use the v8 mafs, just have to scale the maf table accordingly and also plug your tb hole. Also try and get the MAF with the built in IAT sensor, then just use a zzp 5 to 3 wire connector and it works great.

Can I ask what the point is? Better readings/resolution? Putting in an 85mm MAF won't really help since you have to take it down to the 67mm throttle body opening.

but it won't be reading the correct airflow either. That can be a real headache trying to tune blind

So it would benefit to install it after the turbo

                        Re: Maf??

Its better after the turbo so the maf can add the fuel you need , like said you can add a SLP 85mm maf after the turbo. You can always use PE to tune it once the maf maxes out , just need to watch you A/F to tune it, on the electronic TB's I think it goes into limp mode , but on the cable driven TB's I think you will be alright. This is why I installed 65lB injectors so I will have enough fuel if it maxes out the maf and I can tune it with PE tables.

Your going to need to tune the MAF to your set up regardless of the calibration you use.

You have to tune the pcm so it can recognize the Ls1 maf
