    Hey guys,

Haven't posted in a while, just wanted to throw this out there for discussion. I was considering an M90 swap, instead going with a turbo, which should be done this spring, more details to come. But, I'm curious if anyone else has considered running an M90 "backwards."

Considering the main problem with this swap is the throttle body/firewall clearance, why not mount the M90 with the throttle body forward and a shaft/pulley system from serpentine to the supercharger. I've seen some aftermarket superchargers set up this way.

Obviously still fabrication intensive, just thought I'd throw it out there for debate.

    All the best.

Cause you getting something to be that balanced at 6500 rpm is kinda scary.

For the eaton it would actually be substantially higher than 6500 rpm I think depending on the pulley you use.

There must be a way to keep it balanced and reliable:

Yes I know the style your wanting. However there are thousands of dollars in R&D into bearings and mounting. Just the high revs of something not meant to do that scares me.

I considered this myself, but decided to modify the TB input instead for reliability's sake.
Either setup needs a lot of fabrication. Might as well stay reliable.

Oh geez. Is it M90 week or something around here? Did I miss a memo?

A free M90 landed in my lap, and the wheels started spinning:)

you can'T mount it backwards but the intake ports wont line up with the lower intake

                they are off set

There aren't intake ports on the m90 supercharger, just a big hole in the bottom, or do you mean the lower intake manifold to cylinder heads?

Let's not forget that those aftermarket reversed SC rotate in the OPPOSITE direction due to the drive pulley direction. They SPECIAL units. Check out the Magnuson SC site.

Simply put - you can not mate a M90 to NA LIM.

BOTH, look at the motorthey are like this, they have to be to allow the rotation

                        passenger side
                        .(2|4|6)
                        (1|3|5)
                        driver side

on know the intake is not one big hole

This is probably the biggest and most reasonable objection I've heard. It's a very good point, it cannot be done without some kind of funky gear drive in between. Thanks for all the good responses, as I said in my original post I'm not doing this, just curious if it had been considered. Thanks guys.
