It good to do all at once if you can , I have to go back and add my heads with Manely valves, 130 valve springs , Comp .105 pushrods ,MLS head gaskets, ARP head studs, Comp OE lifters and 1.7 Promag rockers and and a double roller timing chain and oil PSI kit if theres enough room to get to it. This will be done in about 2 months I hope.

Not doubting that, but Unique's camaro is pretty rough, at least from what I've seen. I don't doubt it's potential, but for the dough being dropped he could probably find something a lot cleaner to enjoy for longer.
For his age a V8 will cost alot more in insurance over the years , so a turbo V6 is te most logical to do, thats why I never got a V8 sports car which I could of many times over,I just paid 27,xxx for a 08' 6.0 truck and the insurance is only $60 a month full coverage when I was 24 it was $80 full coverage and for a Z28 it was $335 full coverage , so just in insurance over the years the V6 paid itself off, while I modded it.

That's good logic. One insurance company quoted me at $12,000/year on a Z28...

see and thats exactly what the guy who is helping build my motor said. But my main reasons is my car is a v6 its staying that way if i wanted a z28 i would have got one. 2nd better fuel economy 3rd well insurance and 4th and the real reason i just wanna show all those v8 to ask dam what you got in that and ill pop the hood and bam v6.
Rigggghhhhhtttt.... Or you just couldn't afford something better. Don't act like you wouldn't drive a V8 car if you could afford it.
Car was $2000
Turbo kit was $5000 (Came with injectors and everything needed including tune)
Fuel pump $208 (Same as an LT1 car though)
Spec Stage 3 clutch : $370
Gears: $200
So about $7800 including the car for 400whp and 430wheel tq. I have a lot of boost to go as well. Those numbers are only on like 15psi (Dyno'd with no damn boost gauge in the car lol) Pretty good deal I think.
The rear end went on me BEFORE I was turbo so that was about $600 for a new diff, and axle rebuild kit and I got the sweet diff cover.
I also have SFC's, LCA's and a PHB to go on, but they aren't on the car. Sorry no track times, afraid of the rear going or the T5 destroying 3rd gear. The 4L60 bolts up so trannies aren't really an issue if you want auto. And there is an adapter plate to put a T-56 to a 3800. But the T5 after market is pretty strong considering they are used in 5.0 stangs.
I think I will be able to go 10.99 for about 11-12K total cost. "
FWIW, I'm faster than that, for half that, with an LS swap.

Depends on their situation. I was at $70-80 a month for full coverage on my 3 year old at the time Z06.

I'm in one of the highest insurance states because of all the old people here, snow birds, who cause 50% of the accidents here.

Buying a Z28 is a waste of money unless you wanted a Corvette and you've got kids than different story but if I was going to spend the money on a V8 version of my car id rather just say F it and buy a Corvette. Ill be 25 in June with a clean driving record so far so ill keep the V6 since its paid off and probably do a simple turbo build like this. I was gonna buy an LS1 T/A or Z28 but I've changed my mind after test driving one.
I'm planning on Building a Lamborghini Replica for my next car or buying a Gen 1 Viper RT-10 or a Turbo LT1 Corvette. Either way I'm keeping my six as a simple budget car to have fun with.;)

What times do you run? Sprayed?
It's got approx $7800 in it now with all new parts and awesome power. 10.99 also factors in that the tracks here are generally bad, track times can improve by half a second when guys go down to Atco or English Town or that big one in Ohio (US-131?) $7200 really because $600 was for the rear that went before I was turbo lol.
Makes sense:
2K for the car
Junkyards around here are selling LS1's for 2K
$700 for transmission
Set of crappy headers $300
$385 for a cam
$950 FAST Intake Manifold
$400 Throttle body
$300 Tune
- $7035 for approx 400whp.
That assumes stock clutch, pacesetter headers, a cam that you can use with stock valve springs and you can make it on stock exhaust (Probably not)
Pretty comparable really. Except that I can turn up tha boooost :D
i built this turbo build for like 300 bucks. yeah its on a different aplication, but the turbo cost me $50 internally wastegated, i got a turbo xs rfl for 60, with some road rash on it, and spent $120 to have an exhaust shop cut and bend somepiping for me. i did all the welding at my uncles machine shop.
BTW, im in the camera car, thats my buddy mike driving.

2000 Firebird- Intake, Pacesetters, !cat, full 2.5 to flowcrapster, 1.9 rockers, LS6 springs and Intense modded retainers, WS6 speedlines, T/A bumpers and hatch, 5 spd swapped, SOON TO BE nitrous'd and cammed.
i will agree with you flaming chicken you can pay as much as you want to.( i'm doing a bit of a budget build) . Of course often it may cost you more in the long run... the biggest savings is doing the labor yourself. everything gets more expensive with fuel injection though. TUNING, injectors/pump etc. i
he also said that he is going to usea cheap turbo now and upgrade later.
