Ill be 25 in June with a clean driving record so far so ill keep the V6 since its paid off and probably do a simple turbo build like this. I was gonna buy an LS1 T/A or Z28 but I've changed my mind after test driving one.

I'm planning on Building a Lamborghini Replica for my next car or buying a Gen 1 Viper RT-10 or a Turbo LT1 Corvette. Either way I'm keeping my six as a simple budget car to have fun with.;)
There is a bad *** 1000RWHP 96 Collectors Edition Vette on Yellowbullet right now for $16k! Do IT!

It's got approx $7800 in it now with all new parts and awesome power. 10.99 also factors in that the tracks here are generally bad, track times can improve by half a second when guys go down to Atco or English Town or that big one in Ohio (US-131?) $7200 really because $600 was for the rear that went before I was turbo lol.

      Makes sense:

      2K for the car
Junkyards around here are selling LS1's for 2K
      $700 for transmission
      Set of crappy headers $300
      $385 for a cam
      $950 FAST Intake Manifold
      $400 Throttle body
      $300 Tune

      - $7035 for approx 400whp.

That assumes stock clutch, pacesetter headers, a cam that you can use with stock valve springs and you can make it on stock exhaust (Probably not)

Pretty comparable really. Except that I can turn up tha boooost :D
I'm not putting the spray ET out there. I'm still grudge racing it. The mod list is on this site though. OBX headers, LS6 intake, stock trans, Yank SS4000 Converter, etc and a NOS plate jetted at 150 run by a progressive controller. I've gone 11.60's on motor. Oh, and I can always up the jets!

i built this turbo build for like 300 bucks. yeah its on a different aplication, but the turbo cost me $50 internally wastegated, i got a turbo xs rfl for 60, with some road rash on it, and spent $120 to have an exhaust shop cut and bend somepiping for me. i did all the welding at my uncles machine shop.

BTW, im in the camera car, thats my buddy mike driving.
You clearly got what you paid for!

Not trying to bash you or anything... but you don't need a FAST Intake OR larger throttle body to make 400 HP on an LS1... - An LS6 intake will do just fine and costs 1/3rd of the money (IF it doesnt already come with the motor like it does on 01 / 02 engines), infact I'm willing to vouch even an LS1 intake will do it... The only thing necessary in an LS1 to touch 400 WHP is an intake LID (possibly SSRA), good exhaust (full from longtube headers back to the tips), cam, and a good tune... Throw some 5.3L heads on there and you'll be knocking on the door of 500 HP at the FLYWHEEL... But it doesnt take much to get an LS1 to 400 WHP
