Not much more. Fuel pump, injectors, and tuning are still a big part of both.

dont forget that turbine also pushes exhaust out.

SC is still easier than a Turbo. I used to know this guy who fab his bracket for Vortech by using a thick poster board as his template for his C4 and once he got the design down he took it to a sheet metal shop and only paid 120 bucks for the brackets.

Turbo is not always the winner. If that was the case then hardcore racers wouldn't be using blowers.

I used to do my search hear on Force Induction and I found a SC vs. Turbo. Dyno wise for the same amount of boost Turbo wins. But ofcourse they do have intercoolers while SC doesn't.

Then I read Allthegoodnamesaregone SC fbody V6 with a powerdyne go up against WickEdV6 Turbo V6. The Turbo had a lot more tuning done to it, while SC only had FMU. On the track the SC V6 beat the turbo on all 3 races. Now I know why SC is still the preferred choice for hardcore racers.

Back pressure is a Parasitic loss. That's why a lot of turbo guys are running open exhaust. Also, they tend to get heat soak if it's not intercooled properly.

That is a ridiculous comparison. Hardcore racers use blowers because they are generally less restricted on weight using blower where turbos are given weight penalties because they make more power. There are also usually big size limits.

You can't compare one car to another in a race, tires, suspension, driver, transmission, weight etc.. all play their part. I would put my car up against any car on this site on the street and be very confident.

And of course superchargers have intercoolers!!!!!

ANY boosted application will be heat soaked when not properly intercooler. Roots blowers are the WORST for heat soak of any forced induction method.

The (back pressure) parasidic loss of a turbo could be alsmost nothing depending on what size turbo you go with. Smaller turbos are more restrictive true. But a SC runs of of the belt which takes power from the car right off the top. Both systems have their faults, one is no better than the other.

There is no parasidic loss when using the right turbo. Turbos rule.LOL Also run more timing with a turbo due to running a intercooler.

What this thread turned into makes me LOL. Another SC vs. Turbo discussion with a lot of poo slinging instead of hard facts and tech info. I've got lunch and a detail job to get to, but I'm going to hold a place here for my in-depth response later.

For now, both SC and Turbo can be done equally reliable once done right. Each has its own advantages and disadvantages. And both are used in multiple types of "hardcore" racing.

Your right Pace , I slung some poo,LOL but if you want a faster car a turbo will most likely win, nothing against S/C cars. They can make great DD's.LOL

And this is all I'm after. I have no plans of taking this car to the track. I don't plan to race the car on the streets. I want the extra power when I need it (accelerating to highway speeds or passing), but that's it.

Really, the car fits all of those requirements stock, but I want it to be different as well. I see way more turbo f-bodies on here than supercharged ones, and all of my friends, and nearly all FI'd cars in the parking lot where I work is turbo. I'm not looking for which is better, turbo or supercharge, I simply wanted to know opinions on Vortech vs. Powerdyne and Procharger.

But at the same time, arguing is entertaining to read until about page 5 where I'll quit paying attention...lol

Not for a 3.8 top fuel is wrong, look how many GTP owners go turbo for a faster
GTP. I have had all three now , Powerdyne first , then nitrous, and now turbo, turbo wins by far, no bottles no problems like the Powerdyne, just fast speed. And why not take advantage over the space up front, I will post dyno #'s and track times here shortly.

back to the post, only the PD has been mass produced, Procharger 1 person ran and sold off the parts, Vortech don't know off any 3.8 running it.
