Yeah, wondering if that avoids making the custom manifolds and such. guy is selling once locally, but it has like the 38mm waste gate with a gt70 turbo or something which is probably way too big. just figured i would bring it up, didnt see too many threads on it.. so figured ill dedicate one to it.

It might work, just make sure you have an oil pump system to return with a swirl pot for the oil. You'll have to see what the hotside of the turbo is really. put you will most likely need to downsize by a lot.

I hate rear mount set ups but they work okay when they do work. Honestly I would just build the turbo it's own damn oiling system if I ever did a rear mount on a car. One feed, one return with like 3L capacity oil cooler.

Eh...idk. The concept and actually the practice of it is decent, but I just wouldn't do it. Theres more than enough room to put one in a V6 Fbody, never seen the point of a rear mount kit.

if its a good deal, i'd give it a try. i don't think you would have to really downgrade anything. if the hot pipes are too big(over 3") you'll have bad lag. turbo is a bit big... but not to crazy.

@meemperor - i bet if cartuning made a rear mount setup you would like it... haha jk

Haha @meemperor, its awesome to see how pleased he is.

Yeah it's honestly not a great deal, apparently the kit is 4000 new or whatever. but he wants like 2000. im sure he might go down. but yeah.

the huge lag is another concern. i THINK its mounted right near the axel in the back.

                this is his ad.

"STS Turbo kit for '98 to '02 Camaro. The kit comes with turbo, tubing, intercooler, and oil pump.
It's good for about 600 rear wheel HP on a stock LS1.

*Injectors are not included. They cost about $300 for new ones.

                Price: $ 2000"

That's what an STS system is. A system where the turbo is near the back.

I talked to them directly and they told me the universal kit is a much better fit for something like our 3800's than the STS designed for the LT1 or LS motor.

They also mentioned a "Custom fitting" Option to me but it comes at an extreme price tag of 5k+ tune:eek:

I belive the universal is cheaper. However Im not sure how it would be easier to fit then the one for the LT1 or LS1 motor, theyre both Fbodies.

the cold side piping is not the same but the hot is

you can make it for about $1500 + tune, BOV, Intercooler , WB 02 , Injectors
