We discussed running a double sided belt before with a SC. I'm trying to see if it's possible to make happen. I want to utilize the power wrap with ribbed pulleys, which means the water pump has to stay in place, otherwise the power wrap won't work and a regular wrap would have to be used. What do I do?
Do you think a machine shop could do this kind of work (add ribbs to my water pump pulley)? Should I just cut the impeller off the water pump pulley and let it free spin and use a inline electric?
Sure, I even have an EWP. But then the power wrap method won't work and the crank will slip on the belt under the load of the SC. I'd have to use the normal wrap method which would probably work fine since id have ribbed pulleys, but id rather use maximum wrap around everything.
I'll call up some machine shops. What do you think a reasonable cost for this would be?
*EDIT: So would it be damaging to the belt to run ribs on the smooth pulley if the water pump was converted to an idler by clipping off the impeller?
So I MAYYYY have a source for custom belts (which hopefully works out) and he's indicating that he doesn't think its a problem to drive the WP with the ribbed side of the belt, especially if it's converted to an idler being that its such a big pulley that's not driving much of anything. What are your thoughts guys? I'd love to just throw a 103" double sided 6 rib belt on.
Sounds like it would work, can always try it out and see how it does.

It is indeed for an attempt to use the XB-1A, if I can get the belts made for me then I think I won't have any slip problems with power wrap + 6 rib pulley on the XB-1A. I'm not getting any slipping at 9psi with the BD-11A ever since I did the groove cuts into my pulley.
*Edit: I will likely end up having to order quite a few belts to make it worth their while. So if it does work for me I'll probably have a few belts I could sell. Not sure on specifics yet but apparently any sizes can be made.
XB-1A you should be able to run more boost since its gear driven. Sounds like fun.

Yep, im shooting for 12psi to start then 15 or so if its doable. If it works out I'm definitely doing a write up and seeing how we can get some other PD owners running it. I'm hoping to have this running by end of next month.
* Good news I've paid up to make a run of 5x 103" double sided belts from my supplier (it wasn't cheap!) Hopefully they will work out. If they do I'll definitely do a write up and see if anyone else is interested in getting a similar setup.
