    I think I may be getting some belt slip with my PD it doesnt really hit 6-7lbs until 4700-6000 RPM, usually see solid 4-5lbs at lower RPM. Is that the normal range for you guys running the PD

        Also your Powerdyne may need to be shimmed or have the Volute resurfaced, both come into play in maintaning your boost pressure.

          Your always going to have alittle slip, also the grooves help out alot. Just be sure to get the steel pulley as I aid in the other thread alm. will warp under high heat.

            I have the gvperformance brackets so the belt slippage isnt much I dont think. The pd is pretty much new but I remember there being a shim when I took it apart

              Re: PD slip

              Even with the JD wrap and Greenglows grooves there will always be some slips.

              Our member here, OneEightSeven, claimed that he got several double sided serpentine belts from Superchargeronline.com at a cost of several hundred. That would definately help our slipping problems.

              I requested for some pics of it and everything. I asked to buy one from him.

                  Superonline doesn't seem to know what I'm talking about and they never sold this to anybody. So IDK man.

                    Re: PD slip

                    Also im not exactly sure why the groves would help with slip. My though is, no groves means more pulley for the belt to run on which means more traction. Can someone tell me why groves are necessarily better?

                      Re: PD slip

                      Actually the grooves provide more surface area. If you were to measure from one side of the pully to the other going into the valleys and going over the peaks of the grooves you actaully would see a longer distance than measuring stright across. Hence more surface area contact. If you want to teat this take a flat peice of paper 4 inches say. Now take a peice of pqper 8 inches wide. Fold it into an acordian. And squise it down to 4 inches across. Same width, more area. Get it?

                          @Pewter02Camaro,

                          There is more surface area, pewter02camaro is right. This is why almost all proper SC kits are ribbed, not flat like the bs powerdyne setup we get. I'll be selling my double sided belts with the kit, but I don't think I will sell the belts individually, since whoever gets the kit would probably like spare belts. I will start posting part-outs some time in January. My main focus for modding is going to be my G8 GT.

                          103" double sided belts.

                          I was going to run the XB-1A big SC on it, but honestly the G8 just makes more sense as a project car.
