Depending on the cam, unless it is huge, you don't need new heads... I know a lot of people from when I owned my GTP that did it without heads and they were supercharged. I'm sure plenty of people here do it without head change too.

        Re: confused ...

if you're not doing the install of whatever it is........ its gonna be expensive PERIOD. i'm not saying you are rushing things but another thing that costs money is when you are in a hurry.
i "competitely drove" against a hhr ss running 24lbs of boost (claims a 320fwhp on a dyno) on a "closed road course" to 120 and won buy a fender ( a long camaro fender lol) on just 8lbs of boost. actually it was probably more like 13 it tends to creep up in 3rd gear gear and higher.

You don't have to get heads depending on the cam. Most cam's for the 3800 will only require you to change valve springs, but with heavier valve springs you need to change the timing chain as well. (BUT as has been mentioned some of the smaller cams don't even require valve springs)

          Cam - $340
          Gaskets - $120
Valve Springs - $105 (Retainers, seals too)
          Dual roller - $210
          Headers - $500
          N20 - $500
          GTP Injectors - $50
          Tune - $300

You're at $2,067. I'm sure it could be less than that whatever, whatever but reliably that's a ballpark figure of what it costs to cam and spray one of these cars. That is assuming you are doing all the work yourself.

All that for what? 300whp? And you are pretty much maxed now unless you do a bigger shot or heads, or higher compression etc.. Not to mention if you ever want to sell the car it becomes a huge PITA to sell a car that's cam'd (trust me on that!!!) Buy a non-intercooled kit and that will give you your first taste! And then in a year or 2 buy the intercooler kit and go crazy. :)

Why do you think soooooo many W-body guys go turbo, when they're already supercharged!

            Re: confused ...

Ive got at LEAST $12000 in my turbo build but im shooting for 600+ hp. You can do them for way less, but $3000 is a good estimate if you want a good reliable turbo kit. If you need any pictures of anything i probably have one. My turbo kit has front facing headers, to the gt45 turbo, i deleted the ac/ ac compressor and thats where i run my exhuast back out to the original exhaust with a electric cut out to a side exhaust. i have 100's of hours of fabrication in mine, but its well worth it :) boost is awesome haha

plus no clearance issues with under the k member cr**.

A 9.5 1/8th mile won't take all that much to get to. Bolt ons should get you there.

To everyone who keeps asking, YES BONE STOCK MOTOR. No cam, no valve springs, no rockers...nothing. I have some pics of the old kit but they're really crappy I posted them up here before. I will try for some better stuff next week just got too busy this week.
NICE!!! I always wonder what the limit is to our motors.

T5, I don't bang gears and it has held up so far. But I do keep a spare in the garage just in case lol. Typically with a manual if you're not beating on it or abusing it, it will hold up. Even if you are well beyond it's power limit. I have talked to GeForce and a fully built trans (Using stock case) is $2,300

Rear, well my stock rear ran out of oil and seized up, then I got an Auburn Pro posi, Motive gears, and a good rebuild kit and it has also held up. BUT I am on stock rims with not a lot of traction and 0 track passes. I do think it surviving has something to do with the Auburn pro in there though. I am going to an 8.8 just like Letzride has this year.

Got any proof that a stock T5 can hold 400?... seems fishy.
