  • FPR unhooked?

I'm curious if anyone has their vacuum line from the FPR unhooked for boost. I was reading over old emails and someone that was helping me tune wanted me to keep my fuel pressure at the same pressure all the way across the board.

I've never heard of doing that. The FPR increases fuel pressure during boost which is what you want.

You certainly don't want to unhook your vacuum from FPR, because once you hit pressure or boost the return fuel is held back.

I look at it this way, Fuel pressure would be another tuning variable. For someone that is still learning making it a fixed value might help make it easier but in the long run i think it would cause more trouble than its worth. Every boosted car ive ever seen has a working FPR. My tuner never even mentioned taking it off when we were tuning for the Powerdyne.

You know even those drag racers who are racing NA has an FPR.

But yeah, I think you are better off going with larger injectors and tuning for it.

I've got 42.5 lucas injectors and they're a pain to tune. Should have done more research before I bought them but it's what I have now so I gotta figure out what to do with these.
