i had removed my egr to clean up the engine before i really understood how it works. i was just curious out of the forced induction guys and gals who was still using their egr. i'm contemplating reinstalling it whenever i get back to the fun go fast stuff...
just curious if it helped with detonation, by keeping the heads cooler while not wot or if anybody knew.
I had spent hours getting my EGR to work on my RWD L67 but it would dump wide open or something and cause a massive vacuume leak and cause the car to die. I got sick of it and unplugged it.
Since then I have no knock. I only have ever seen KR when im on 87 in warmer temps above 60. I run a stock 3.8 7PSI pulley BTW. On 89 it never knocks. However I do have a 3" manifold back with no cat and a straight through muffler.
