Just had a quick question... can anyone help me determine the part number for this turbo? The Serial Number and other info on the tag is scratched away. My brother is a diesel mechanic and he picked it up for a project I am making. He said it was from one of the International semis.

I have so far determined that it is:
    -Borg Warner
    -Not EFR line

I can't find a whole product catalog so it is difficult to determine.

[edit]: it'd help if I added a picture.

Yep. S-series are popular for big power.

take the compressor cover off and measure the compressor wheel

whatever it is its a vvt turbo which means u will have to find some way of actuating the vanes in the turbine housing or lock them into place.

that setup look sclose to the one holset uses so if it is u can setup a control system very cheaply and easily

I'm not using it on a vehicle so no worries. I've done all of my research as to what it all is, just wanted the part number so I could find the charts on it.

Yep yep. Just found the info I've been looking for.

It is from 2003-11 International semis.

very nice man i built one a few years back out of a buick regal turbo, be very very careful when u build it and fire it up, i have seen one first hand explode when the compressor wheel came apart, thankfully noone was seriously injured

                    Very cool... I can't wait.

And I am going to be very careful. Haha!

How did you calculate the flame tube/combustion chamber? I heard the inducer x 2 for FT diam and inducer x 6 for length.

I think I tried that like two years ago and no one whatsoever was active to answer questions.

                        Maybe I will try again.

Ah that'd be helpful. I'm sort of just going off of my basic knowledge of jet engines and seeing what numbers I can come up with.
