Can you physically take a L26 intake and swap it 180 and will it work on the 3800? Bolt up and matching ports?

        No that wont work

Everything would be in the wrong place, this is the lower FWD L26

        Here is RWD

I think hes refering to rotating the entire (upper and Lower) intake from the
L26. I dont see why it wouldnt work physically, the heads are identical i.e. they can go on either side of the block. The bolt holes would match up either way you set it on there. the rest of it would need modding, would be cool to see though. the water jacket path would be problimatic, if you look at that picture the head with the oil cap flows tword the plastic elbow hole, while it looks like the other side flows to the thermostat. Id love to get a look at an L26 manifold set to check this out.

Exactly Pewter, Im building a 3800 for a Blue 87 Buick T I got and want todo that project.
Instead of useing the Camaro intake Id like to turn the whole intake L26 around and make it work if possible.

The ports look really nice for a turbocharged 3800.

Have you noticed one head sits further forward then the other? The intake only fits one way.

Im well aware of that. Ever notice the bottom of the LIM is a paralelagram?
If you rotate a paralelagram 180 degrees its no different in shape than before you rotated it.

Both sides are the same, only offset.

I suggest you try this before telling people it works.

I would love to know where in that reply I stated that it would work with one hundred percent certainty. I even went so far as to state that I would like to get a closer look at it.

I assume since you state that it does not work that you have tried, what were the specific reasons it failed? How about something a little more descriptive than one head is shifted forward.

Well I'm planning on giving it a shot. I think it will work. If not ill have to use a camaro/firebird intake. But as far as I can tell the ports and bolts line up.

I would really appreciate it if you could take some pictures as you test fit it, id love to get a look at how it sits.

The water pasages are the problem.
