Where's Garwood? I live in Woodbury, I'm right next to Deptford. I heard there was a shop near Atco that did dyno runs.
I don't doubt the 3.8s bottom can do it, I was just hoping to get some feedback on long term. Obviously there just isn't enough of it going on to get any info. Cause like you said, higher boost and stock internals isn't something you normally want to risk.

There's a lot of things that are good and bad about our engines handling lots of power and higher rpms. Our rod to stroke ratio is well within limits for 6500-7000 rpm pulls, it's about the same ratio as B18 motors in Integra's and the S2000 motors. The rods can be replaces w/ the new L32 rods or tried and true L67 rods. Balance shaft can be removed and the rotating assembly can be knife-edged, shotpeened, and balanced up to 7500-8000 rpm(always good to go over so u have some room to work with). since we have a 6, we have 2 less rods, pistons, rings, and crankshaft length to take power away, but to make the same power as a 8, we have to make up for it with more cylinder pressure somehow. Also, high temperature coatings on the piston tops and combustion chambers will also add some magin for tuning ability. boost will help this. the problem with the higher rpm's is also the valvetrain. getting all of it lightened will allow it to rev up that high without valve float.
someone said that torque will kill the engine. I don't think so, but if u do, then build up the motor to make more HP than torque by adjusting ur powerband with an aftermarket camshaft.
Our motors do enjoy being able to flow more in and out of the motor. Making it more efficient this way will also lower the boost pressures made with forced induction, yet make more power. This just happens to occur because the engine can fit mroe air though it at one time. you will be able to see this with a sc easier than a turbo, since the wastegate will see that it's flowing the same cfm as before, but isn't at max boost, so it'll keep flowing till it hits the wastegate setting. I wouldn't be suprised if the guys w/ ATI kits did a heads/cam package on their cars and saw maybe a loss of 1/2 lb.-1 lb. of boost, but saw a great increase in hp and torque.
